The Province of British Columbia has green-lit $6.59M in funding for the fiscal year 2023-24 to reopen the CleanBC Go Electric EV Charger Rebate Program for Homes and Workplaces.

This is in addition to the existing CleanBC Go Electric Fleets Program, a program designed to support Provincial action on climate change and reduce transportation greenhouse gas emissions.

New changes to the program include the eligibility of townhomes for the EV Ready and EV Charger standalone offers.

    What is the maximum rebate available for installing an EV charger?

    The maximum rebate per project can go up to $14,000. However, the rebate value may vary depending on the type of building or charger. For instance, under certain conditions, single-family homes can receive a rebate of up to 50% of the purchase and installation costs of an eligible Level 2 EV charger, to a maximum of $350​.

    What types of buildings are eligible for the EV charger rebate?

    Single-family homes, duplexes, townhouses, multi-unit residential buildings, condominiums, and apartments, as well as workplaces are eligible for the EV charger rebate.

    Are there different types of rebates available for EV chargers?

    Yes, there are various rebate streams such as the EV Ready rebate stream which offers $4,400 per charger while ZEVIP funding lasts. Additionally, there are different types of EV charger rebates for condominiums and apartment buildings​.
