The Government of British Columbia is investing again in public fast charging—and the latest funding window is officially open. Applications are due by June 20, 2025, so now is the time to get your project moving. Contact Hypercharge today to get a head start on your project.
The CleanBC Go Electric Public Charger Program is back with a new round of funding to expand British Columbia’s network of public DC fast chargers.
Whether you’re a business, municipality, or Indigenous community, this is a prime opportunity to secure capital for EV charging infrastructure that serves the public 24/7.
What the Program Funds
The current funding round supports both DC fast charging and Level 2 charging stations (when installed with DC fast charging), with enhanced rebates available for Indigenous communities.
Rebate amounts are based on charger output and whether chargers are installed in tandem or as pilot projects.
Funding Breakdown for EV Chargers:
• DC Fast Chargers (20 kW to 49 kW):
Up to 50% of project costs, max $20,000 per charger
(Up to 90% of project costs, max $50,000 for Indigenous communities)
• DC Fast Chargers (50 kW to 99 kW):
Up to 50% of project costs, max $50,000 per charger
(Up to 90% of project costs, max $100,000 for Indigenous communities)
• DC Fast Chargers (100 kW and above):
Up to 50% of project costs, max $80,000 per charger
(Up to 90% of project costs, max $130,000 for Indigenous communities)
• Level 2 Chargers* (≥32 amps):
Up to 50% of costs, max $5,000 per charger
(Up to 90% of costs, max $7,500 for Indigenous communities)
*eligible as part of an approved DCFC installation or Level 2 only installation, subject to meeting requirements outlined in the program guide.
Who Can Apply?
The program is open to organizations looking to install new public EV charging infrastructure or expand existing sites. Eligible applicants include:
- Businesses (commercial properties, workplaces, and retail destinations)
- Public sector organizations (school districts, universities, health authorities, and Crown corporations)
- Local governments (cities, towns, regional districts, and unincorporated communities)
- Non-profits and community organizations

- Indigenous communities and wholly owned subsidiaries
Applicants must either own the site or have written permission from the site owner for a minimum 10-year term—a requirement that can be supported through long-term solutions like Hypercharge’s Charging-as-a-Service solution.
Auto dealerships can only apply if no public DC fast charging exists within 15 km of the proposed site.
