Equion™ Energy Management

Maximize EV charging capacity without costly upgrades.

Equion Head

As electric vehicle adoption continues, managing energy efficiently is essential to maximize charging capacity while minimizing infrastructure costs.

Hypercharge Equion™ is an EV Energy Management System that lets properties add more charging without overwhelming electrical infrastructure. Equion combines smart charger control with site monitoring, so EV load follows what your building can safely deliver and what you want to spend on power.

Equion™ Benefits

Reduce Infrastructure Costs

Enables more chargers to operate within existing total electrical capacity, reducing upgrade expenses.

Real-Time Load Balancing

Automatically adjusts charger output based on available power, vehicle demand, and site rules.

Reliable and Smart

Ensures efficient power distribution, prioritizing charging needs while protecting electrical infrastructure.

Equion™ from Hypercharge includes:

        Circuit Load Sharing

Included at no extra cost with all Hypercharge EV Chargers

With circuit load sharing, multiple chargers wired into the same circuit can only use a portion of the circuit’s power, regardless of whether or not the vehicle attached to that charger actually needs more or less than the pro rata share of power.

Best for: Small installations where dwell time is long and budgets are tight.

        Equion Los2

        Equion™ for Dedicated Panels

Each charger sits on its own circuit while Equion™ Cloud Software manages the group against panel capacity. Chargers run at higher power most of the time and only throttle as the panel approaches its limit.

Best for: New builds and sites that want stronger driver experience and simple expansion.

        Equion Los3

        Equion™ for Shared Panels

Equion™ adds site monitoring at the EV panel using Equion™ Monitor and Current Transformers to read real time panel load. EV charging output adjusts as non-EV loads on that panel rise and fall, so you can add capacity without major upgrades.

Best for: Retrofitting existing panels where new infrastructure is difficult or expensive.

        Equion Los4

        Equion™ for Whole Building Loads

Equion™ measures total building demand, across all panels and distribution branches to manage the load available to each EV charger. The system can limit EV load during critical periods, then increase power when capacity and prices are more favourable.

Best for: Commercial sites with demand charges or broader energy strategies that include EV charging.

        What Sets Equion™ Apart?

Equion™ continuously measures the total electrical load across your entire site and allocates available power to each charger.

Customize charging preferences to prioritize certain vehicles or optimize energy use during peak and off-peak hours.

As demand grows, Equion™ allows you to add more chargers without increasing capacity, reducing installation and upgrade costs.
